Principal Laura Weaver

Dear Westridge Community,

Westridge is a wonderful school and I feel so fortunate to be a part of it. We are a community of engaged and supportive families who bring diverse experiences to our school, talented, caring, committed teachers and staff who work tirelessly to help each child grow, and amazing children who treat each other with kindness, rise to challenges, and make the days at Westridge joyful!

Before starting this role in 2022, I spent 16 years as a classroom teacher in elementary and middle schools. I completed my undergraduate degree and teaching license at the University of San Diego, earned my Masters in Education at the High Tech High Graduate School of Education, and received an Administrative License from Lewis and Clark. 

I believe in educating the whole child. A caring and engaging community sets the stage for students and adults to flourish. My first focus will always be on the well-being of each person in this school and I will do my best to maintain a caring, safe, and healthy community. Alongside that priority is the academic growth of each child in our care. We know that for students to grow, they need appropriate challenges, differentiated support, and engaging strategies to access the curriculum and achieve mastery.
